Serenje couple arrested

A couple from the Serenje district of Zambia have been arrested and their children abandoned by their extended family.

A man and his sister in Serenje District who have been married for over 10 years and have five children together are finally paying for their sins as police have arrested them. The 38-year-old man and his 35-year-old sister of Chief Kabamba’s area have been arrested for incest. Mukuwa Bulaya and his blood sister, Bertha Chipapuka married in 1999 after the death of their parents. Central Province Police Chief Standwell Lungu said Bulaya and his sister have five children aged 13, 10, 8, 6 and the youngest, who is 11-months-old. Mr Lungu said the two ‘parents’ were in police custody on a charge of incest and would appear in court soon.
