Put an End to This Horror Story...

A family is being destroyed by their extended family and fundamentalist neighbors because they’re a queer poly family. And by destroyed I mean destroyed, as much as any family can without being imprisoned.

Our family has been attacked in a political charge led by wealthy people on the far right [their extended family and former church community]. They have attempted to take our children from us, destroy us financially, and to force our family apart.
• We are a polyfidelitous family, a form of polyamory that is not open to those outside the relationship, where all persons in the relationship are fully committed to one another, just like any monogamous relationship. Ours if an FFFM relationship (3 females and a male), with one woman identifying as lesbian, two women identifying as bisexual, and a straight male. We are NOT polygamists, and all members of the relationship are equals to one another in every respect. We believe love is multiplied, not divided, and we work together as a single unit in every respect, just like any monogamous couple.
• I, personally, am a twice-divorced, mid-30’s male. I have several children, one of whom is a cancer survivor. Because of the hardships of my life, and my son’s cancer, I started a charity that helps kids with cancer. Other than the abnormal adversity of my life, and the unconventional structure of my family, I am just another guy, average in nearly every respect.
• We are now faced with hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees, fighting a case in multiple states against people with millions of dollars in resources. We are now appealing to the public for help.
• We firmly believe that a relationship is dictated by the people in it, not by what others think of that relationship, and that loving one another is reason enough to commit to one another. Those not party to the relationship should not be allowed to interfere, as long as everything is consensual and everyone in the family is safe, which they are.
• We have been thoroughly investigated by government agencies, who have ruled out any instances of abuse, neglect or of physical or emotional impairment.
• This entire case is nothing more than a battle over sexual orientation and marriage equality. The time for change is now.
• Join our cause, spread the word, contribute to the fund, and help us take a stand for all families, everywhere, who don’t fit the mold of the “nuclear family.”

This boils my blood. Damn those people. Damn them! Is this behavior “witnessing Christ”? No one should ever have their children stolen by vindictive neighbors and relatives.

You can read the full story here, and donate to help with their legal fees. They sorely need it. You can follow their case on Facebook. Please help #endthehorrorstory.

If you have publicist or legal skills, they could also use your volunteer work with managing their legal case and publicity. Right now they have to do everything themselves. They’re still trying to get media to pay attention. You can get in touch with them via their Facebook page if you want to help. Also, if you can contact your representative, especially if you live in Texas or Ohio, maybe we can get some political pressure on this situation so the courts will stop acting so egregiously.

Just so people understand who it is that’s being dragged through the mud:

This family runs a charity for young cancer patients going through treatment. They provide technology to help divert them from their problems, and to provide them with an online support network. In this video, James is showing a kid the charity’s Minecraft server, where members of the charity, donors, and other cancer patients can interact and build together. They also host servers for other games. This gives these kids the opportunity to interact with a community of people who know exactly what they’re going through.

They started this charity because one of James’ sons went through cancer himself. It inspired James to help other kids going through the same thing. Now that son has been stripped from a loving home and placed with an abusive parent who ware barely present in his life.
We are often asked what we do. Sometimes it is because people don't understand the nature of childhood cancer. Others don't understand the nature of the online-gaming world. We... we're a little different.

We know that the world can be a hostile and dangerous place, and the internet, being at the crux of modern society, is no exception. At the Cube Server, we aim to change the world. We believe in upholding three core values, "Be friendly, cause no grief, and always do what is best for the community." Because of this, we have a thriving, online community that works together without regard to race, religion, gender, nationality or sexual orientation, making us one of the few, safe corners on the internet.

We also support those among us who are suffering the worst, providing high-end laptops to children with life-threatening illnesses. We give them a window to the world, and a connection to our safe, thriving, global community, helping alleviate their suffering during their time of greatest adversity.

We also support education and the development of the resources we want to see used to make the world better. To achieve these goals we provide scholarships to aspiring software engineers and grants to independent developers who are seeking to create software that is innovative and community focused.

Yes, this is quite an endeavor, but we don't stop there. We also provide social support to youth of the general public. Through our network of volunteers, we seek to help stop bullying, to be a source of hope during difficult times, to promote healthy self-esteem and to help prevent teen suicides.
Edit: They've won! They've won! All thanks to the Sexual Freedom and Legal Education Fund! Good work, y'all. I hope the future is as bright as possible for everyone.
